AREQUIPA TESIS: emergence, growth, development and mortality of Caesalpinia spinosa in the district of Arequipa

Summary of the Thesis:
evaluation was conducted emergence, growth, development and mortality of Caesalpinia spinosa, in the nursery of the Rural Community of Atiquipa, Atiquipa District (15 ° 47'39''S, 74 ° 21'47''W), May November 2008, determining the influence of soil on the hills of Atiquipa, taking soil samples from areas: grazing, reforestation and protection.
3 trials were conducted (with soils of the grazing areas, reforestation, protection) and control (commercial substrate), with 100 replicates per treatment, the evaluation was carried out based on a completely randomized design in an area ( Rashell mesh shade 35%) of 4.5 mx 6 m, with a distance of 25 cm between each experimental unit. The experimental unit was a plastic bag in black, 10 cm wide and 50 cm high, containing the test soil and a seedling of C. spinosa obtained from a pre-germinated seed. Data were obtained each month for 7 months, applying an analysis of variance (ANOVA) and Tukey test for significant differences between treatments.
analysis results showed that the soil of the protection zone had the best emergence rate (96%), the best results for height, diameter and number of leaves are represented by the soils in reforestation and grazing (Tukey 95%), the best results for fresh weight gain as soils grazing and protection (Tukey 95%), also for the dry weight obtained the best result the floor of the grazing area (95% Tukey ), while the status of land use had the lowest mortality was the land belonging to the reforestation area (22.47%). Relating the results of emergency, height, basal stem diameter, leaf number, fresh weight, dry weight and mortality, show that the condition of land use that provides the best results is from the area of \u200b\u200breforestation.
