COMMENT
We face a very film difficult to see. Not a normal film to the public nor for the movie buff, by the way it is done. This documentary looks addressed to specialists in the Holocaust, it is precisely the content that is everything and the way film is nothing.
Within the work itself Lanzmann's film, Sobibor is a detachment of Shoa which lasts nine hours. Detachment is a theme and form. Sobibor material was shot along with the Shoa, but was not incorporated into the work mother because the story did not fit with the general approach.
The theme is everything. The revolt of prisoners in the Nazi concentration camp Sobibor, located in Poland, and that was a success as several escaped.
For Lanzmann the Sobibor historical fact represents "the reappropriation power and violence by Jews, in a self-defense against the Nazi genocide. Also, your point of view it seeks to demolish some myths about the Holocaust and saying the truth:
Jews were not the Holocaust as sheep to the slaughter, docile and resigned. They were victims of deception planned throughout the entire procedure that started from their homes until their death in gas chambers. When some groups realized the reality, implemented revolts, resistance, rebellion. The frustrated the lack of technical management of arms and the psychological conditioning that Jewish people were subjected.
